Since the parameters of the reflected electromagnetic wave depend on the structural and kinematic characteristics of the irradiated object, the RD system detects any changes in the geometry (bends, nicks, breaks, wear, galling, etc.) of the elements of a mechanism in the process of its operation or changes in the motion parameters of these elements (changes of the trajectory, velocity, etc.).
