Latest Inventions Chemistry A GAS DRYING METHOD
A
gas drying method
The method applied today to dry
gas includes delivery of absorbent to a discrete apparatus’ absorber, mixing
of the said absorbent with a drying gas, and drying of the mixture in a
multipurpose apparatus. In the newly-developed technology, a moisture-saturated
absorbent is continuously rejected to a regenerator. The said absorbent
regenerated in the regenerator and cleaned from mechanical additives is fed to
the absorber where a surface-vortical mixing of the said absorbent and gas is
effected simultaneously with a cooling and degassing of water steam/drops and of
the absorbent. The process goes in a cylindrical, twisted pipe with
multiple-thread screw crimps in compliance with the following ratio: L/S³2, N³3, 3³d/D, gas-to-crimps running-on rate of 30-400 mps; the humid absorbent
solution is permanently withdrawn from the internal crimp surface to the
regenerator and is re-circulated to the absorber. The following abbr. was used:
L - pipe length, S - screw crimp spiral stroke, N - number of crimps in the pipe
cross-section, D - maximal outer diameter of the twisted pipe cylindrical
profile, and d is a minimal internal diameter of the twisted pipe cylindrical
profile.
In the second modification of the
method, absorbent before its mixing with a drying gas is sprayed to produce a
dropwise media. The cooled dropwise absorbent is then used for absorption.
In the third modification of the
method, absorbent is delivered in the form of a steam saturated at the
temperature below the initial absorbent decomposition temperature.
In the fourth modification of the
method, steam saturation temperature in the absorption process effected by means
of a diethylene glycol is maintained at 100-163° C.
In the fifth modification of the
method, steam saturation temperature in the absorption process effected by means
of a triethylene glycol is maintained at 140-205°C.
In the sixth modification of the
method, fine-disperse spraying of glycols, with a drop diameter of less than 5
mkm, is used to produce a dropwise absorbent.
