Latest Inventions Technologies of salvaging A METHOD AND COMPOUND TO UTILIZE INFECTED MEDICAL, CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL WASTES AND OTHER HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCLUDING ANIMAL CORPSES
A
method and compound to utilize infected medical, chemical and biological wastes
and other hazardous materials including animal corpses
The technology applied today
presumes a placement of materials to be utilized in a closed cavity made with a
gap between its bottom and wall to provide an access of air therein, sprinkling
of the material with an Al- or Mg-based powder, and ignition and burial of
wastes after completion of the combustion process. Unlike the described
traditional method and in accordance with the newly-proposed method, a material
to be burnt is placed in a cavity wherein a filtration combustion powder layer
had previously been laid. The powder layer contains, in addition to magnesium
and aluminum metal powder and/or their alloys, an oxidant and technical
additives. Mass content of the metals in the powder should reach 91-97%;
aluminum to magnesium ratio is chosen within 1:(0.5-1.5). An average diameter of
magnesium particles D is taken larger than an average diameter of aluminum and/or
its alloys. Nevertheless, the D-size shouldn’t exceed 6.65d.
When material is sprinkled and
the mixture is ignited, the air is taken from the atmosphere and delivered
therein. A part of the air is supplied through the powder into the combustion
zone; the flow rate is carefully controlled.
Some modifications of the
newly-developed method are also described in the patent. In the first
modification of the method, a part of the air withdrawn from the atmosphere goes
along the cavity wall and by-passes the closed cavity. In the second
modification of the method, combustion products are drawn off and cleaned from
dust, gas and aerosols contained therein. In the third modification of the
method, combustion products are cooled before cleaning. In the fourth
modification of the method, atmosphere air is mixed to combustion products. In
the fifth modification of the method, an air flow drawn off from the atmosphere,
which is then mixed with combustion products, is regulated depending on their
temperature; the combustion products temperature is controlled at the cavity
outlet. In the sixth modification of the method, combustion products are
expanded before cleaning and then swirled in a vertical column. In the seventh
modification of the method, cross section of the vertical column swirled
combustion products flow passes through is reduced in the range of 0.65 to 0.85
of the original cross section size; cleaning liquid flow is organized as a
liquid film embracing combustion products flow; the said film and gas flow move
in a counterflow direction. In the eighth modification of the method,
temperature in the combustion zone is controlled depending on the combustion
products temperature through variation of the air flow passing through the
combustion zone. In the ninth modification of the method, an air flow drawn off
from the atmosphere is maximally increased after completion of the combustion
process; the air flow passes through the working cavity. In the tenth
modification of the method, the powder additionally includes liquid substances
to bound water, or other substances, in particular, calcium compounds, in the
amount of 1 to 5% by weight.
