Latest Inventions Chemistry A METHOD OF AND DEVICE FOR DEGASSING LIQUID OILS
A
method of and device for degassing liquid oils
In accordance with a known method,
oil bubbles are produced from gas impurities dissolved in processing liquid oil.
Oil is then delivered to a vacuuming volume. After that, bubbles are burst up
and gas fraction of impurities is separated from oil and then removed; oil is
pumped out.
In accordance with the
newly-patented technology, oil bubbles are kneaded under a dripping oil film. To
obtain this result, oil is delivered to processing by a stream; oil film is
produced by series of consequent injections. The stream is injected in such a
way that the dripping oil flow starts swirling. At the same time, areas of
interaction with the vacuuming volume are formed under the dripping oil surface.
Traditional devices for liquid
oil degassing comprise a vacuumed housing with a bleed connected with a vacuum
pump and an inlet port to supply processing oil, with the housing and inlet port
located in the upper part of the housing; an outlet port to drain purified oil
in the lower part of the housing; an oil-catcher in the upper part of the
housing; an oil in-take tank; an oil flow devider and gas bleeders. The oil
in-take tank is a vertically-elongated cylinder, crossing through the
oil-catcher, with passing passages made on the wall of the said cylinder over
its height below the crossing line with a plane of the oil-catcher. Gas bleeders
are located in such a way that their upper ends pass through the oil-catcher,
while their lower ends are placed in the lower part of the housing.
Unlike previous designs, a unit
to supply treating oil has been added. This unit is located in the oil tank
upper base and allows to inject oil stream tangentially to the oil tank inner
wall. The oil flow devider is fixed in the housing at a level (or below) of the
oil in-take tank lower base and has radial slots. There is a gap between the
tank edge and the wall of the housing. The oil-catcher comprises two circle
sector-like units fixed in the center. The units are placed along the common
axis at a certain distance from each other; the distance between them is chosen
in such a way that sectors of one unit overlap a clearance between the sectors
of the other unit.
In another modification of the
device, a unit for processing oil supply is made in the form of a pipe. The
inlet end of the pipe designed for processing oil delivery is rigidly fixed in
the oil tank upper base. The outlet end of the pipe is bent inside the oil tank
and allows to inject oil stream tangentially to the oil tank inner wall.
