Production of an industry Ecology BIORECULAT – AN EXPRESS METHOD FOR STABILISATION OF INDUSTRIAL WASTE LANDS
BIORECULAT
– AN EXPRESS METHOD FOR STABILISATION OF INDUSTRIAL WASTE LANDS
BIORECULAT – polymer
covering for industrial waste land reclamation without application of topsoil.
BIORECULAT -
is a stable elastic covering made from substratum and polymer obtained when
applying water polymer emulsions covered on the surface of waste lands.
BIORECULAT:
-
an express method for stabilization of
industrial waste lands;
-
an universal means for vegetative erosion
control (against soil drifting, soil washing, soil lifting frost);
-
lasting covering that provides stabilization
of substratum hydrothermal behavior, formation of plant cover with stable
high productivity, intensification of microflora activity and, therefore,
acceleration of soil-formation processes at rehabilitation of waste lands;
-
a safe means for protection of root layer
against industrial impact factors, which enables to rehabilitate vegetation
under chemical and radioactive pollution;
-
a perspective way for yield improvement of
agricultural lands.
BIORECULAT
IS CHARACTERIZED WITH:
-
mechanical strength, kg/cm2
> 18
-
water permeability, mm/min
4-12
-
long durability, year
>6
-
stability against seasonal temperature
changes, from
- 40 to + 40 °C
FACTORS OF EFFICIENCY OF POLYMER
COVERING APPLICATION
-
reduction of temperature changes amplitude
during vegetation period in root layer
1.5—3.2°C
-
increasement of soil moisture content
30—50 %
-
increasement of biological productivity of
perennial herbs within the area under industrial factors impact
50—70 %
-
increasement of yield of grasses on
agricultural arable lands
20—30 %
BIORECULAT improves
the ecological background of root layer of waste lands, protects against
industrial pollution, thus, activating regeneration forces of nature and
improves soil stability against industrial pollution. Activation of nature’s
self-restoration forces promotes afast formation of soil fertility.
Polymer coverings are efficient
being used both as under different types of pollution (intensive radioactive,
hydrocarbon contamination, soil contamination with heavy metals) and as at
different natural objects in different climatic regions which is evidence of
their multi-purpose character.
Kola Peninsula has vast reserves
of useful minerals, their mining and processing is accompanied with formation of
mine waste lands.
Tailing dumps of AS "Apatit"
with their nearly 4000 hec area are an intense source of dusting. Before
stabilization the erosion processes involved tens of million tons of dust
annually. Creation of vegetative cover on the slopes of tailings has solved the
problem of dust storms for Apatity-city.
Rehabilitation of soil-plant
cover technology with application of BIORECULAT polymer covering
has become the background of a "Complex program on dust suppression aimed
at reduction of radioactive dust transfer" during the liquidation of
consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl NPP. Under the given technology
the plant cover has been rehabilitated on thousands of hectares of stripping and
deactivated areas within the Chernobyl NPP, which made the radionuclide amount
less in the zone air by two-orders of magnitude.
The technology has been
recommended to be used at development of gas deposits in the North of the
Western Siberia for marginal lands, as the most ecologically, technologically
and economically efficient. Rehabilitation of plant cover after deep prospecting
drilling by the Tambey expedition has shown that plant cover under polymer
covering is efficient against thermo-erosion. Stability of operating facilities
besides solving environmental problems can also be provided.
Reclamation cost with polymer
covering is ten times less than recultivation with application of topsoil.
Technological regiments for
reclamation of plant cover of waste lands contain complete complex data:
characteristics of reagents; technological regimes for production of working
solutions; requisites of reagents producers; requirements for reagents
transportation and storage; requisites of producers of special equipment and its
characteristics.
