A method of studying electromagnetic pulses in the atmosphere

The technology applied today provides for generation of Compton electron asymmetry divergence factor at the first stage, and consequent turning on gamma-quanta pulse emitter.

According to the newly-proposed method, at least one wire is placed near gamma-quanta emitter at a certain distance (the distance from the gamma-quanta emitter to the nearest point of the wire should be lower than an average free run length of gamma-quanta in the atmosphere at the given altitude) to form asymmetry factor. Current is then supplied via the wire.

Two modification of the proposed method are described. Under the first method, explosive magneto-hydrodynamic generator is used as a source of current supplying to the wire. Under the second method, explosive magnetic generator is used as a source of current.
