METHOD OF REUSING PHENOL-CONTAINING WASTE WATER

FIELD: environmental impurity disposal.

SUBSTANCE: phenol-containing waste water issued from metallurgical plants is treated as follows: concentrated ammonia water containing up to 3000 mg/l phenols and up to 1000 mg/l cyanides is fed into gas stream leaving steel- smelting assemblies. Into the same gas stream, oxygen are also introduced oxygen in amount of 50 to 100 cu.m per 1 t of ammonia water and catalyst. The latter can be mixture of lime and iron oxides at ratio between 1:10 and 1:1.

EFFECT: increased degree of purification of phenol-containing waste water. 3 cl
