DETECTION OF
LEAKAGE THROUGH PIPES
FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to device comprising
sealing bags joined by connecting link. When inflated bags form sealed chamber.
Bags may not form perfect seal, leakage through them may take place if pressure
differential exists. The rest of pipe forms tested volumetric chamber. One
pickup measures pressure differential between chambers, another pickup measures
pressure in tested chamber. Information on measured pressure differential is
used by control device to monitor pressure variations and to adjust sealing
pressure so that same pressures are maintained even if pressure in tested
chamber drops because of rupture of pipe. An alternative system provides for two
separate devices with circuits to facilitate formation of two temporarily sealed
chambers placed under pressure with tested chamber located between them.
EFFECT: provision for less intermittent and less
expansive mechanism for precise leakage test of pipes under pressure. 2o cl, 5
