APPLICATION
Used for production of chemical
fibres, threads and polyamide resins.
Basic direction in capron fibres
use:
- In consumer Goods Productions - to manufacture
textiles, knitted materials and hosiery;
- In plastics production - to manufacture
products intended for work under pressure and in frictionaty conditions:
- In aircraft, automobile industry,
machine-building and instrument-making industry.
SEQURITY REQUIREMENTS
Caprolactam is flammable. Flash
point - 135°C, self-ignition point - 400°C. Lower limit of ignition - not less
than 123°C. Lower concentration limit of explosivity when mixed with air - 43 g/m3.
Caprolactam refers to the 3-rd
class of hazard for human health as defined by the degree of its impact on human
organism.
Toleranble concentration of
Caprolactam aerosol in the air of working zone within a production building - 10
mg/m3.

PACKING, TRANSPORTATION &
STORAGE
Solid Caprolactam is packed in
five-layered paper saks with polyethilene lining or in polyethilene sacks
inserted into paper sacks. The polyethilene sacks are sealed, the paper sacks
are sewn up by machine. Standard weight of a caprolactam sack is 25±0.5 kg.
Solid Caprolactam is transported
in covered railcars of lage - capacity containers or in covered trucks.
Liquid Caprolactam is transported
in specially equipped tanks.
Solid Caprolactam is to be stored
in covered warehouses.
Liquid Caprolactam is to be
stored is reservoirs under nitrogen bed; space content of oxygen in the bed must
not exceed 0,0005%.
WARRANTY FOR STORAGE:
Solid Caprolactam - 2 months from
the manufacture date;
Liquid Caprolactam - 15 days from
the manufacture date; provided that all storage rules are observed.
