The
invention relates to transport engineering and serves for starting combustion
engines with a large cylinder capacity and transmission elements (trucks,
agricultural engineering, building engineering, mining engineering).
In an inertia engine transmission elements are
used as a rotating mass (a flywheel).
The method of engine start includes a preliminary
accumulation of mechanical energy in the system to be a peculiar flywheel and
then transmission it to a crankshaft of engine.
The starting inertia system consists of usual,
regular parts that form a transmission, and includes: flywheel 1, clutch disk 2,
clamping plate 3, throw-out bearing 4, starting gear 5 located at primary shaft
11, gear box 12, starter gear6, starter 7. See fig 1.
An engine start is carried out as follows:
A driving mechanism (throw-out bearing 4,
clamping plate 3, see fig. 2) presses a clutch . In this case the clutch disk 2
backs off from the flywheel 1, fig 2. A voltage is applied to the starter 7 from
an accumulator battery. Starter gear 6 engages with starting gear 5 and becomes
to rotate it. As the gear 5 is fastened at the shaft, the system consisting of
clutch disk 2 not pressed to the flywheel 1, the primary shaft of gear box 11
comes into rotating. See fig2.
After the above mentioned system has picked up
maximum number of rounds (0,8-1,5 seconds), the clutch disk 2 is pressed to the
flywheel 1 by the driving mechanism (throw-out bearing 4, clamping plate 3,
fig.1). The disk 2 transfers a rotating motion to the flywheel. Engine starting
occurs. The starter is switched off.
Powers of a starter an accumulator can be
one-third as large as at direct starting. A starting freguency riches a value of
2,5 times as much as a minimum freguency that provide a sufficient reliable
start of engine (especially in the winter period). A large starting freguency
secures also more ecologically clear exhaust in starting. As shown above, lesser
power of as a starter, so an accumulator provides their lesser prime cost.
