A method of weakening the tropical cyclones (hurricane, typhoons) power

Methods applied today provide for initiating the air movements through intended influence on certain zones. In contrast to the traditional methods, in the new method available potential energy (APE) in troposphere is evaluated and the results obtained are compared with the maximum APE value defining a speed of the wind in the hurricane which brings risks of destructible impact on the environment. The data thus obtained are used to select zones in the troposphere, subject to intended influence. If the APE value being calculated reaches the maximum APE value, then one or several zones in the troposphere where this equation is correct are chosen. After the attack of the selected zones the APE is transformed into kinetic energy thus initiating formation of a cyclone whose power now is not sufficiently enough to cause huge environmental damages.

Two additional statements of this Patent describe the mechanism of such an influence (blast, heat influence, spraying of a special substance to form moisture condensation clusters in the zone). According to the claims and statements, the value of the APE is determined experimentally on the basis of the temperature profile on the ocean surface and vertical temperature & humidity profile in the troposphere air.
