A method of a vehicle speed monitoring

This method is intended for a vehicle equipped with a speed transducer, storage (memory) device and an indicator. Based on the speed transducer signals, speed of the vehicle is determined with a preset discreteness. The values thus measured are saved in the memory of the storage device and displayed at the indicator. The innovation is that the first N (N>1) non-zero speed measurements are written to the memory. Thereafter, a record of each new speed rate is effected simultaneously with a removal of the oldest (the first, in terms of time) measurement. Stoppage of the vehicle is recognized by a lack of a signal from the speed transducer within the preset time period. After that, the maximum value of the speed rates recorded is determined and displayed at the indicator.
