MEASURING THE SPEED AND TRAVEL OF THE MEDIUM UNDER STUDY
The known method is to excite an
acoustic wave in the medium, pass a light beam through the medium and register
variations of the light beam characteristics on leaving the medium, which are
further used to evaluate the speed and travel of the medium. The proposed method
differs from the known one by that the length of the acoustic wave and the beam
diameter are magnitudes of one order.
