Generators
using gas-filled tubes
The special feature of this
generator type is the possibility to generate neutron pulses having duration
from 5...10 microsec to several milliseconds and frequency from hundreds Hz to
tens kHz. 14 MeV neutron yield - 104...106 n/pulse.
General
purpose generators
The ING-07 generator using
gas-filled tube and its modification specially for elemental analysis equipment
ING-17 (Table 1) are currently developed and being produced at VNIIA. The
generator includes:
Control console and power supply
unit are interconnected by 50 m cable for ING-07 generator and up to 1000 m for
ING-17, and power supply unit and radiation source - by 5 m cable.
The ING-07 special feature is
presence of microprocessor system to control mode for powering neutron tube,
that allows high (not less 95%) stability of neutron output within all range
from 5× 107 to 1× 109 n/s and also the
generator interconnection with computerized measuring stations through serial
interface RS-232.
Logging generators
These generators (Table 1) include
power supply and control unit and radiation source. The power supply and control
unit and radiation source are in metallic cylindrical bodies and interconnected
by threaded connection. The generators are powered from 200 Vdc.

VNIIA neutron generators are
dual-use products, so their delivery requires export license. We need from
customer the international import certificate and signed contract for delivery
of chosen products for the export license issue. The license issue takes 4-5
months. So, an order should be executed within 6-9 months from its receipt
depending on individual generator. The specified prices include delivery cost
and may be changed during negotiations on contract. The generators using (D-D)
tube may be delivered at customer request. Such the generators provide 2,5 MeV
neutron yield approximately 2 orders less than (D-T) generators.
