In the known method of processing a
material with a natural radioactivity (MNR), a radioactive material is
controlled by particles size to mix with another, particles-contained material.
In the newly developed technology,
MNR is used as a drilling mud component in the technological process of drilling
mud production. The size of MNR particles is controlled in accordance with a
size of the drilling mud component. Thereafter, MNR is introduced in the
drilling mud to ensure irreversible sequestration of the MNR particles
concentration in the mud to suppress their radioactive nature.
There are also numerous
modifications of the proposed technology.
In the first modification of the
technology, MNR is treated to lower the size of particles before its usage in
the technological process of a drilling mud production.
In the second modification of the
technology, MNR is mixed with at least one component of a drilling mud, which
consists of particles, before its usage in the technological process of a
drilling mud production.
In the third modification of the
technology, selected component (or components) of a drilling mud is
simultaneously subjected to the treatment to reduce the size of particles.
In the fourth modification of the
technology, MNR is mixed with at least one component of a drilling mud, which
consists of particles, and is then subjected to the treatment to reduce the size
of particles in one stage during the technological process of a drilling mud
production.
In the fifth modification of the
technology, a drilling mud component is a grained material selected out of the
group that includes a viscosity-controlling additive, a loading additive, a
density-modifying additive, layer-isolating materials, fillers and sealers.
In the sixth modification of the
technology, a drilling mud component is a grained material selected from the
group which includes a bentonite, a heavy spar and a limestone.
In the seventh modification of the
technology, particles are reduced by size in a way that the size of appr. 97% of
particles is lower than 75 mkm.
In the eighth modification of the
technology, at least one grained material is selected and used as a drilling mud
component. The size of MNR particles is lowered to obtain a certain size of
particles, which corresponds to the size of the said grained material. Then,
deep mixing of MNR particles and the grained material (one at least) is carried
out. Mixed particles are then used in a technological process of a drilling mud
production.
