A
method of radioactive decontamination of materials and goods
Traditional a method of radioactive
decontamination of materials and goods includes treatment with an acid or a
mixture of acids containing a hardener.
In the newly-developed technology,
silver oxide or a mixture of silver oxide and sodium persulfate (calcium,
ammonia) are used as an oxidizer. For acid processing, nitric acid with the
concentration of 1.5 moles per liter, or phosphorous acid with the concentration
of 0.1-0.5 moles per liter, is used. Concentration of oxidizers is chosen in the
range of 0.01-0.1 moles per liter.
