A method of and device for providing electric safety of passengers on electric vehicles with ungrounded body

Traditional method of providing electric safety of passengers on electric vehicles with the ungrounded body, supplied from a two-wire DC network with a grounded or isolated negative pole, includes generation, based on obtained actuating signals, of compensating voltage between the supply source negative inlet and the vehicle body. In the newly-developed method, control signal showing the vehicle body potential in relation to road pavement surface is used as an actuating signal. The compensating voltage is set with a different polarity dependent on the control signal polarity. The compensating voltage value and polarity are selected to ensure that the potential of the vehicle body in relation to road pavement surface is zero.

Traditional device for providing electric safety of passengers on electric vehicles with ungrounded body, supplied from a two-wire DC network with a grounded or isolated negative pole, comprises: a compensating voltage adjustable generator whose outlet is connected between the supply source negative inlet and the vehicle body; an alarming system; a detector to register control signal showing the vehicle body potential in relation to a pavement; and a control system. In the newly-designed device, an integrating unit, 2 video pulse generators, and a controlled keys unit are additionally introduced. The control signal detector outlet is connected through the said integrating unit with the control system inlet. The control system first outlet is connected with the inlet of any of the two video pulse generators. The control system second outlet is linked with the inlet of the other video pulse generator. The outlets of the video pulse generators are respectively connected with 2 inlets of the controlled keys unit and 2 actuating inlets of the compensating voltage adjustable generator. Two outlets of the controlled keys unit are tied with 2 inlets of the compensating voltage adjustable generator.

In the second modification of the newly-developed device, a conductor, which is isolated from the vehicle body and provides a contact with a pavement surface, is used as a control signal detector. In the third modification of the newly-designed device, the compensating voltage adjustable generator comprises a pulse transformer, an accumulating condenser, a limiting resister, and 2 controlled keys. The first and the second outlets of the pulse transformer primary wiring are the inlets of the compensating voltage adjustable generator. One outlet of the pulse transformer secondary wiring is linked with the accumulating condenser and through the limiting resister - with the vehicle body. The secondary wiring second outlet is linked through 2 controlled keys connected in parallel and in the reverse direction with the other accumulating condenser outlet and supply source negative inlet terminal.
