An installation for storing hazardous substances in the sea

An installation for storing hazardous substances in the sea, in particular, radioactive waste, is proposed. The installation includes a concrete main casing (11) which can move over water as a floating casing and stay at the sea bed in a storage area. The casing is made with internal compartments to store waste (S, K); at least some of the said compartments are located below water surface level. The installation also comprise a terminal concrete casing (10) which can move over water as a floating casing and stay at the sea bed in a storage area near the main casing (11). The terminal (10) approaches the casing (11) and is connected with it. For this purpose, linking paths (14) which can be connected with the main casing storage compartments (S, K) are provided. Devices (15, 16) located over water level to receive waste from vessels or vehicles are to be provided in the terminal casing (10). Fourteen modifications of the new installation, proposing various designs, are available.
