| METHANOL |
| Methanol is used as semi-product in many industrial syntheses. The main consumer is the production of formaldehide, which is used to manufacture formaldehide resins, plastics and synthetic fibres.
In oil-processing industry methanol is used as selective dissolvent to clean gasoline from mercantanes and also, in the extraction of toluene.
Besides, Methanol is used to obtain a fuel additive with high octane content (which result in the increase of the engine power and in the steep decrease of exhaust), in protein synthesis (protein-vitamin concentrate), in the production of dymethylreftalate, pesticides and agents for chemical protection of vegetation; in the production of acetic acid, hexamine, carbamide resins, photofilm, plexiglass. |
