| A PRELIMINARY IDENTIFICATION OF AMBIGUOUS TEXT AND ITS TRANSLATION INTO OTHER LANGUAGES WITH USING A SYSTEM OF COORDINATED DICTIONARIES |
| A preliminary identification is based on supplementing the polysemantic words and word-combinations by components of dictionary entries that the author chooses in the basic explanatory dictionary of the source language. The universality consists in subsequent machine translation into other languages using bilingual dictionaries coordinated with a basic explanatory dictionary. The process of preliminary identification takes into account not only the wide range of meanings of polysemantic words, but also the ambiguity or incompleteness in the expression of actions and states, where in one language such features as gender and number, character of action and state, etc., are determined only by the context, while in another language they may be reflected in concrete grammatical forms.

| AN EFFICIENT METHOD FOR THE RECOGNITION OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS FROM A CONTOUR SEGMENT |
| An efficient method is proposed for the recognition of 3D objects oriented in a random manner. This is done from the geometrical characteristics of the contour lines outlining the object of interest on the image plane onto which they are projected. This method is the basis for a computer program, called DETERMINATOR, which compares the contour submitted for recognition with the reference contours of a certain number of predetermined objects shown from various angles. Information about the reference objects is compressed and stored in a data base. |

| The work is aimed at considering the prerequisites of social-economic conditions for possible future development of mining complex (MC) in the Murmansk region. This complex is a reference point, a “mirror” used to evaluate not only the past but also future problems of joint development of various technologies in the region, as it is the basis branch of industrial sector in the region nowadays and has appeared a long time ago. Materials are classified according to the analyzed directions: MC and external factors – macro-economy as well as shelf oil and gas, transport, energy, nuclear sphere within regional context. |
