AMPLITUDE, FREQUENCY, AVERAGING DEFINITIONS IN TEST SYSTEMS DESIGN
An acoustic method is proposed for cellular phone automatic vibration testing. Acoustic waves induced by cellular phone vibration, are picked up by test system microphone and acquired by PC sound blaster. Acquired signal is analyzed to evaluate vibration frequency and amplitude. Test criterion is met when vibration frequency and amplitude are in predefined limits. Relevant amplitude and frequency definition as well as averaging method are proposed to achieve test reliability and robustness. Some acquisition synchronization issues are considered. Acoustic test method, amplitude, frequency and averaging estimation technique are implemented on Lab View and Test Stand platform.
